Today is the start of my 20th High School Reunion Weekend. ACK. I mean, really – HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? Its not I regret the time or hate getting older, it is that if THAT twenty years flew by, that means the NEXT twenty will fly by and so on and so forth. And then, of course, the general rumination that comes with High School. I wonder who has changed, who will be a surprise, who will be exactly as you expect them, who, who, who, who…. Can I just say I’m really glad I’ve lost a tiny bit of weight? :)

Carrie, my dear friend from High School, came by yesterday – very spontaneously at 4:45 pm with two teeny weeny little airplane bottles of some Fruity Rum. We popped a Diet Coke, sat back in my big cushy chair and celebrated. Celebrated what? Who knows. Thursday. Our 20 year reunion. All that kinda stuff. It was wonderfully out of the blue, unexpected, and just fun. And then I thought – How long since I just did something on the spur of the moment Just For Fun?

Okay, that’s a silly question to ask Tracy – but….life should be more like that. The fabulous things shouldn’t stick out so glaringly. They shouldn’t be so out of the ordinary. Not that I advocate a diet coke and rum at 4:45pm every day – but rather – spontaneous connection, friendship, life. Grab it by the…well, grab it. Because I am really confident the next twenty WILL fly by. And if the past few years are any indicator, they will fly by even more quickly than the first twenty.
