Knock That Door (down…)

by retrodiva on August 30, 2008

There is something really annoying about Synchronicity – and not just the fact that was an album by the Police in 1983 and I do not like the Police, simply because I can (not like them…).

Derek used to say, emphatically, “THERE ARE NO COINCIDENCES!”.

And I used to say, just as emphatically, “THERE ARE TOO, HMPH!”.

Derek called me last fall, as I was handing out glasses to VIPs at the Fresh Hop Festival, as I was avoiding my husband’s attorney and his VIP ticket, and proceeded to tell me about some show he was watching – they were talking about Yakima and how it was a wretched place. And Derek, he could never let a coincidence pass him by – so he shared his story, said he still didn’t ever want to talk to me again, and that was that.

Last night I walked a bit through downtown Yakima, past the Theater where the festival was held as you told me about a show you had watched and the girl, she talked about going to Yakima…

And so tonight, as I shared with Helen my post on mice, and your name hovered, and we talked about Ravelry, and links to my blog displayed, and some of those links were private, and being cocky because I haven’t cried in like, an entire WEEK, I clicked on one of those private blogs and it was June 24th – your birthday, and Enon came on…Knock That Door…and your words slapped me in the face…

“My super-amazing-fantastic-effervescent-sexy-as-all-hell rockstar girlfriend has insisted… And ya know, I do everything she says… It’s only proper… I mean, how could I not, right?… I’m hers to do with as she wishes… Putty in her hand, as I eat out of hers…

*SIGH*

Yeah, I’m in love…

So?

Got a problem?”

Effervescent, and sustained by imagination and expectation.

Does thought dictate reality? However seductive the idea of thoughts manifesting in reality might be, when the reality manifests itself in the most tragic ways – are we just as responsible?

Uh.  Yeah.  I think I’ll just go make a freebie :)
